Celeste Epiphany Waite, known mononymously as Celeste, is a British-Jamaican singer and songwriter. Born in Los Angeles, California, on May 5, 1994, she was raised in the UK and is known for her soulful, jazzy R&B sound, often compared to artists like Amy Winehouse and Billie Holiday. She gained recognition after winning the BBC Music Awards and the Brit Award for Rising Star in 2019, and being named the BBC's Sound of 2020.
