The origins of the band date back to 1991, when Sandoval fronted the rap group Unlicensed Product, while Bernardo, Curiel, and Gabe Portillo performed in the thrash metal band Eschatos. In 1992, Sandoval joined Eschatos as vocalist, and the group renamed itself Payable on Death, later shortened to P.O.D. The name was derived from the banking term "payable on death" and was intended to reflect the band’s Christian beliefs. That same year, they recorded their first song, "Three In the Power of One", later included on their debut album "Snuff the Punk".

In 1994, Daniels joined as bassist, replacing Portillo. The band signed with Rescue Records, founded by Bernardo’s father, and released "Snuff the Punk", "Brown", and the live album "Payable on Death Live" between 1994 and 1997. Following growing regional attention, the band signed with Atlantic Records in 1998 and released "The Warriors EP" as a transitional release.

Their third studio album, "The Fundamental Elements of Southtown" (1999), marked their commercial breakthrough, featuring the singles "Southtown" and "Rock the Party (Off the Hook)". The album was certified platinum. In 2001, they released "Satellite", which achieved greater commercial success and was certified triple platinum. The album included the singles "Alive", "Youth of the Nation", "Boom", and "Satellite". "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation" both received Grammy Award nominations, while the track "Portrait" was nominated in the metal category.

In 2003, guitarist Marcos Curiel left the band and was replaced by Jason Truby. That same year, the band released their fifth album, "Payable on Death", which marked a stylistic shift toward a more melodic metal sound and was certified gold. Curiel rejoined the band in 2006 following Truby’s departure. The band’s sixth album, "Testify", was released in 2006 and included the single "Goodbye for Now", which featured a guest vocal by Katy Perry. Around this time, the band also left Atlantic Records and released the compilation "Greatest Hits: The Atlantic Years".

In 2008, P.O.D. released "When Angels & Serpents Dance", their first album after reuniting with Curiel. They continued touring internationally and performing at festivals. In 2012, they released "Murdered Love", which was described by the band as a return to their earlier musical style, incorporating elements of hip hop, punk, and reggae. The album included the single "Lost in Forever".

In 2014, the band released the acoustic album "SoCal Sessions", followed by the studio album "The Awakening" in 2015. In 2018, they released their tenth studio album, "Circles". The band marked the 20th anniversary of "Satellite" with a tour in 2021.

During the European leg of that tour, drummer Wuv Bernardo stepped back from touring activities for personal reasons. He was temporarily replaced in live performances by Alex Lopez. In 2024, P.O.D. released "Veritas", their first studio album in six years and the first without Bernardo’s participation in recording. Although not actively touring with the band at that time, Bernardo remained a member.

In 2025, the band released a version of "I Won't Bow Down" featuring A.N.I.M.A.L. and a cover of "Don't Let Me Down". They also continued touring internationally, including as a supporting act for other rock bands. As of 2026, the band has been working on new material, with reports indicating a heavier musical direction influenced by the use of extended-range guitars.

1. Daze is a Danish eurodance project of Johnny Jam & Delgado (Aqua, Me & My). Daze's career has really turned into a true fairytale for singer Trine Bix and her two partners songwriters/musicians, Sieber and J.T. - the trio which constitutes the turbo-pop-phenomenon Daze.

He always did all this without the help of a record company, but in early 2010 he signed a contract with EMI Group. This contract resulted in the recording of his debut album Dream Parade in Los Angeles. The first single from this album is the song This Town. With this, 3FM immediately chose him as 3FM Serious Talent. Giel Beelen called him the greatest talent of 2011 on March 10, 2011 during the broadcast of De Wereld Draait Door. His first single This Town was named 3FM Megahit on March 27 and Dotan was a guest at Giel Beelen and De Wereld Draait Door.

His debut album Dream Parade was released on May 20 and was immediately named by CD of the week on 3FM and 3voor12. Dotan received positive reactions for his album in magazines such as OOR, Elsevier, Metro and de Volkskrant. About the name 'Veracocha': Ferry was watching Discovery Channel (as he did a lot) and there was a program that was about Inca's. 'Viracocha' is the name of one of the Inca Gods. They found wall paintings about this God and on those paintings, and it looks like he resembles an astronaut. Because Ferry liked the story behind it, they decided to change the name a bit and use 'Veracocha' as the name for this project.

Tarkan is one of a few European singers that have managed to span chart success over three continents without singing in English. Often cited as the Turkish Prince of Pop, the German born singer has charted in Russia, Europe and in the Americas with the song "Şımarık" (Kiss Kiss). Tarkan is an entertainer who has broken the mould of the meaning of a pop star and set the standard for a new breed of artist. He is a force that has managed to overcome countless barriers, simply because he sees none.

Born in Alzey, Germany on 10-17-1972, Tarkan is the fifth child of six siblings. Tarkan was reared by his loving mother who noticed his talents and encouraged his artistic ability. Coming from humble beginnings, music was a form of release from his realities. Seeing how music moved their child’s very being, was reason enough for Tarkan’s family to encourage his journey into the world of music. He began on his quest by taking lessons in Turkey in order to study the craft of traditional Turkish song. Studying at the Turkish classical musical institution, Tarkan was surrounded by some of Turkey’s most respectable songwriters & musicians. It was at this very young and impressionable age that Tarkan absorbed the essence of music.

After graduating from high school, Tarkan had a string of jobs that led him nowhere in the music arena. Experiencing this disappointment, Tarkan was planning on moving to Germany and leaving his dreams of pursuing music and stardom behind. However, prior to his departure, destiny had different plans in store for him as Tarkan met producer Mehmet Sogutoglu. Mehmet eventually signed Tarkan to his record label, Istanbul Plak. This resulted in the release of Tarkan’s debut album Yine Sensiz in 1993 in Turkey. The first single “Kil Oldum Abi” quickly struck a chord with the public, garnering airplay at nightclubs & eventually hitting Turkish radio’s Top 20 charts. Whether his interests, political views, or personal relationships were in question, he has never ceased to be an integral topic of public intrigue. Tarkan’s quest for self-realization was played out publicly due to his ever-present persona. However, through it all, Tarkan has managed to weather the storm by staying true to his heart, to his music, & to his fans.

Karma was released in August 2001 to a hungry audience, which saw a side of Tarkan never before publicly exposed. Karma was a touching, introspective, and deeply personal work, which shined a light on all of the experiences, Tarkan had endured throughout the recent years of pandemonium. Tarkan released another Turkish language album on December 25, 2007, which was comprised almost solely of his own work. Called Metamorfoz ("metamorphosis" in English), seven of the songs were written by Tarkan, three other songs were collaborations with long-time engineer and producer Çolakoğlu. The album sold over 300,000 copies in the first two weeks of its release.Tarkan also became the most downloaded artist at TTNetMüzik, a digital music provider where his songs were made legally available in a digital format at the start of January 2008. Out of nearly two million tracks that were purchased after six weeks downloading, nearly 100,000 of those acquired were Tarkan songs, making him the highest grossing single artist at the music portal.

Unlike the public's reception, the critical response to Metamorfoz was lukewarm. Most music critics found the album musically lacking from Tarkan's previous albums, though not all. Ecevit Kılıç, columnist for Sabah newspaper, hailed Tarkan on his return and called him the "Orhan Pamuk of music", saying that Tarkan, just like Nobel-awarded Pamuk, always does everything his own way, despite all the attacks he has received from the press.Tarkan received congratulations from the chairman of the Turkish Language Association for his lyricsmanship by using correct language, traditional idioms and sayings in his lyrics, showing it was said a good example to Turkish youth in preserving the culture of the Turkish language. Besides the sales success, Tarkan also produced the third highest viewer rating with his New Year's Eve performance on TRT television channel, generating a total of 1 million YTL income for the television from sponsors.

1) Kombi was a Polish synth pop band formed in 1976 in Gdańsk by Sławomir Łosowski, Grzegorz Skawiński, Waldemar Tkaczyk and Jan Pluta. It was one of the most sucessful Polish groups and has achieved a moderate success in Europe and the USA. The band dissolved in 1992 after an internal conflict. In 2003 the original members of Kombi regrouped without Łosowski under name Kombii.
